ABOUT INSPRAD

Centre for Social Policy Research and Development is a research and publications arm of Self-Help, Agriculture and Education Foundation.        The centre was established to strengthen the links between research and development by bridging the gap between development practitioners and the academia in the conceptualization of social policy issues, and to serve as a forum for deliberation on ideas by the international community of scholars and development practitioners.

About the Journal: The journal of social policy research and Development was established in February, 2009 by  the Center for Social Policy Research and Development , a research arm of  Self-help Agriculture and Education Foundation  to strengthen the links between research and development, and also to  provide a voice  for scholars on  social change  issues  around the world.

Goals:

• Advance the study of   social policy and sustainable development

• Explore the relationship between policy, research and practice

• Contribute to knowledge and understanding about social policy and policy making

• Link social policy research with a wide range of research users

INSPRAD is committed to making policy research and study accessible and inclusive. It brings together researchers in contemporary development issues, social scientists, policymakers and practitioners engaged in interpreting, evaluating and influencing the implementation of   social policies.

Activities

INSPRAD regularly hosts guest lectures and conferences with invited speakers from all areas of social policy, including researchers and development practitioners   and representatives from research councils, NGO’s and governmental agencies in Nigeria and overseas.

Its activities are designed to stimulate world-class policy research, extend the connections between research and research users and address the changing concerns of the developing economy and international policy community.

Our conferences are based on firm multi-disciplinary research foundations and aim to help disseminate policy-related research in social policy.
